Vanilla Gate

Vanilla Gate fell into my lap by accident, my friend was asking about it and I had no idea what it was. But none the less it’s cute, and it really does look interesting.

Vanilla Gate is a mix of an MMORPG, a console game and an education system. There is the typical interesting back story that everyone should read but you don’t get to see much of it in the beginning of the game.

Sadly, there isn’t any town to walk around in and talk to NPCs and so on: You need to choose Game Mode. There are Team, Single and Quest. Within Team and Single Mode there are other different modes of how you play the game: Time Attack, Taking Flag, Bumming Run, Death Match, Sudden Death, Crazy and Vanilla King.

I spent most of my time running around in the Quest Mode, there are different quests you choose from and in that quests there are several different maps you can go through and you can repeat the same one several times.

But why want to repeat? Well, each quest map will want you to collect all the letters of a word. Simple words like World, Island, and Ill. When you get all the letters you’ll get a card that will reward you with things such as EXP, money (bread looking thing). But it’s not always you’ll find all the letters and finish the quest at the same time so you repeat. Great thing with it, is even if you don’t finish in one round: Next time it still counts as you already got the letter.

Vanilla Gate don’t got classes, you can buy skills and change weapon as you please. This way you can have both melee and magic skills on one character: Bad thing is that there is only room for 3 skills at the same time so it’s important that you choose wisely.

Then there’s the pet system, their cute, their adorable but they take time to get. Why? Because when you buy them as an egg you can’t even use them. You need 10 ore looking things to evolve it into a kid (They say kid, but it’s not like a human child. Just a kid pet) These ores you can get from quests, and you can buy them from the shop: But either way it will take a long time before you end up with a pet.

Overall, I honestly think it’s a game worth to try. Especially if you like other MMORPGs like Tales Runner or Grand Chase. Vanilla Gate might not be as fast paced as Tales Runner, nor as PvP related as Grand Chase but it’s built up the same way and definitely worth a try.

What made me Like Vanilla Gate?

- Great Graphics
- No Cash shop, but Have Fashion
- Can change angle
- Different Game Modes
- Can buy Skills
- A lot of different areas
- Good back story
- Has JUMPING! <3

What made me Dislike Vanilla Gate?
- Bad explained on whats the weird things on the ground
- Need a lot of material to Enchant items.
- Mini Icon of yourself doesn’t change according to your looks
- Randomly threw me into Window Mode with no option to get it back unless I restart the game.

What to do in Luna Online?

I decided to show off a part of a guide I wrote back when I was playing Luna Online Active, and I think if your interesting in cute games you might like what you see

In Luna Online there is a nice dating system! Go see the family manager in Alker harbor and register yourself, add your likes and dislike and you can go on a date with ANYONE who have more then 30% in common. If your lucky enough to get over 80% there will be a heart alarm over each other heads that no one but you two can see.

You can fish! You can fish for hours and hour nonstop. You can gain fish to trade for fishing points which you can trade for interesting items like a funky looking hat with stats on it! Or you can be as lucky to get a fish which looks like it’s made of pure gold, by double clicking on it you can get some cool items, even cash shop items like map scrolls and exp scrolls!

Find a family and get a farm! You can have animals, plants and your own family storage. Depending on the plant and level you can get all kinds of things, like HQ gems and materials to create enchant scrolls.
Of course it’s not free! There is a weekly fee of 500k, if it’s not paid you will loose your farm. So even if all 60 spots is taken on a server you can hunt weekly for unpaid farms, or for families who needs an extra member because they cannot farm unless they have 5 people in their family!

Kill them! Slay them all! You’ll have a chance of getting fun items, even fashion :3

And if your bored you always got the monsters keeping you company!

If you get tired of grinding you can always hunt bosses! There is a set of bosses on every map so your bound to have some around your level too. If your lucky you might get some kick ass item on the side of the good exp^^

In Luna there is also a nice dueling and PK system, PK has a lot of bad sides with it but is also fun! PK can only happen at selective maps at higher level, some of them are red orc outpost and the way to howling ravine. Dueling however, can happen anywhere you choose. A box will pop up around the two duelers and you cannot move away from that box. and it’ll last a minute or till one of them dies.

-CTRL+Z: Makes it so everything goes away so you can take a good screenshot.
-CTRL+up arrow: Quick reply to whispers.
-HOME: Opens the chatroom
-F1-F6: Switches between your party members, very useful if your a supporter class so you can easily buff/heal them.
-ALT+drag to another spot in your inventory: separates the items

Bonuses

Depending on how many minutes your logged in, and how many monster you’ve killed You’ll gain different grades of Blessed Time Crystal and Blessed Protection Crystal. You will gain a new one every 100 minute/kill or so.

Level up gift boxes! No they do not level you up, different level boxes give different things. Everything from cash shop buffs, exp scrolls, and equipment.
Levels: 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 45, 55 are the levels you got a box to open.
If you end up getting glitched and don’t get a box, please send a mail to the GMs.

Luna Online is an amazing game, I honestly don’t play it any longer and the reason is kind of complicated but it don’t change the fact it’s plain amazing.

It’s your typical 360degree point and click game but they have a huge span of additional features so it’s bound to be worth your time! Some of these features are fishing, farming, dating and construction system.

You’ll be clicking your fingers sore trying to get as many “perfect hits” as possible in fishing, getting the rare golden fish and turtle can give you rare treasures so it’s worth your time. Farming can keep you occupied for hours as you tend to both farm animals and plants with your family and of course there are special rewards in this as well as the fun of doing it.

When you first start Luna Online you’ll be able to Apply for Resident, you fill in a card with your Age, Region, Likes and Dislike. This is mostly used for Dating, some have high enough matching with you to set off an heart alarm but mostly everyone can go on a date with you. A date, is usually the date dungeon which you can use 3 times a day. It’s easy, and great exp so a lot of friends do it just for fun.

In most other games you need to follow a certain path in your job tree, Luna Online is different. They offer a huge class tree and you can jump in between each path at any class change. You don’t need to stick with being a healer from the beginning to the end: You can easily change from being a healer to being a damager and still keep all the skills from your healer class. This way you can shape in your character to fit your needs perfectly.

WonderKing is a 2d side scrolling game thats currently being hosted by nDOORS interactive, and I’ll just start off by saying it’s not a maple clone. I know a lot of people take one look and then say it’s a maple clone but what do they know? I’m sure they never looked it up, or read what kind of different systems they offered.

I’m not going to say maple is bad, maple is just a community game before it’s a good MMORPG. Now wonderking offers a lot of things that will make people say it’s a lot better then maple story.

Cooking system: With items you collect from monsters you can cook up different food and drinks that can heal your HP/MP and do other handy things.
Mining system: Buy pixel axes and start mining you can use those items and items from monsters to create equipment later on.
House system: To come in the future but I hear you can decorate your own house.
Pet system: They will actually help you in battle as a friend!
Attendance check: You get one attendance check when you’ve been online for an hour, after 5 check’s you get different rewards.
Transformation: You can collect 3 cards from monsters and transform into them!
Minimap: You can see Monsters on MiniMap
WorldMap: You can see what Monsters are on each map.
Maps: Are also huge so no more “CC Pl0x”
Party: You gain party exp for each monster you kill, you can cash it in as exp or money.
Movement: You can doublejump, dash and jump down
Auction House: Easier to sell items and equipment

The tutorial in WonderKing is easy to learn and fast, no unneeded conversations that will only annoy you, the monsters fits the environment and wasn’t overused expect their “logo” monster Puma. You will walk into the farm and see carrots. You will walk into a beach and see squids. Unlike Maple Story they put a lot of work on backgrounds, they actually look good compared to most of MS: And you can jump up on a lot of things which have no meaning at all but it’s fun.

They have different party quests and mission maps, some you need to clear the map before the time runs out, others you need to kill a hard boss and then there are those where you need to protect something.

If your afraid of the grind then I have to disappoint you you need to grind to level, and you can’t 1-2 hit an enemy but on the good side the EXP curve is steady and not like an iceberg like some games that suddenly go from easy to super hard in an level.

Trickster Online

Trickster Online is a game you will either love or hate, but no matter what most MMOers have tried it atleast once their lifetime. If you look at the overview trickster is an confusing game because there are so many things to learn but thats probably because it’s a huge game.

They have a lot of features like Refining, Compounding, Drilling, Boss systems and Pets.

One of the things that I really enjoy with Trickster is their original class feature: They have animal classes which they divide into Power, Magic, Sense and Charm and the jobs are just as original. You will see jobs such as Teacher, Archeologist, Engineer, Shaman, Schoolgirl and Model.

They used to have this hour long tutorial zone which drove me nuts but they changed that into a fast learning 5 minute map which teaches you all the controls you need and the rest you’ll learn as you go with quests and such.

Trickster Online has a huge cash shop, the good thing with it is that it’s actually cheap compared to most other MMORPGs, but the bad thing is that not everyone can afford spending money on a game.

I also want to mention the fact that Trickster always have events, and not just one event but many events at the same time. Some Cash Shop related, some Not. Some for High Levels, some for Low Levels. This way I feel that There is always a new reason to go back and say Hello to Trickster.

Wonderland Online is an unique MMORPGs, it feels like your typical old school RPG nintendo game. It even has the typical story of one where your on a boat and the next moment you find yourself deserted on an unknown island with no idea how to get back to your own life!

When you first create a character in WonderLand you choose different people, they have different looks, stats and beginner skills but you also get 6 additional stats when you create your character to make it fit your future.

Wonderland Online offers a lot of game features such as Fishing, Manufacture, Compound, Siege, and Pets. I think the feature I found most interesting was the housing system: You get a tent early on for free and it’s empty and ugly but you can decorate it into your own personal plaza! And it don’t cost cash shop at all! You can actually create everything from items you gotten from monsters and such.

It has it’s flaws, and personally it wasn’t the kind of MMORPG I’m looking for. But if your intrested in a good game with anime characters, uniqe backgrounds with a story splashed together with some game features then this is the game for you!

Tales Runner

So here I was thinking I could avoid work and just relax with some manga all weekend long, but of course my roommate had to want to play a racing game AND of course I had to complain how ugly it was looking and that he should rather try one of the cute racing game that is around: I suggested Tales Runner.

Even thought I’ve never tried Tales Runner I have seen it around, but I can’t control anything thats related to sports or driving so why on earth would I try it? But I did with my buddy and Guess what.

I kicked ass!

Tales Runner offers easy controls, with a easy to learn tutorial with great rewards! =D Alright so it’s not your typical fantasy related MMORPGs that your probably looking for but I can guarantee you that Tales Runner is something your just going to love.

It has the cuteness you crave, which is probably why your on this blog but they offer a lot of things besides that: Different characters with different looks and stats, farm, different game modes, minigames with rewards, and a huge pool of different racing maps to choose from.

Tales Runner is a fast paced, action packed racing game by Gpotato. You race by foot not by car, you can Swim, Run, Sprint, DoubleJump, and even Fly on some tracks. The standard 8-man race it’s all about reaching the goal before anyone else, where you can pick up capsules which can give you bonuses or give the other people around you bad things. These can be everything from a curse that slows them down, to a chicken that knocks them on their butt to transforming them into a slow no jumping cute animal. Of course you can avoid all of these if your skilled but some of them are quite hard to avoid.

Tales Runner also offer a 30- man race where players isn’t just racing with each other their also escaping an enormous boss chasing them around the track.

Yeah a lot of the things in the cash shop can give extra stats, but you’ll soon realize it’s not that big of a deal. Why? Because as you level up, or are in races you’ll gain something that is called TR: TR you can buy certain cash shop items with like fashion: Some with stats some without. You can also use TR to buy more farm items.

For you that enjoy wasting your entire wallet on a game: You can also switch ingame cash for TR.

This of course brings me to the farm, which is probably what I love the most about Tales Runner: You get your own piece of land that you may decorate any way you like. Bad side is that it costs 1000TR a month, but that’s not a lot considering you get 11,000TR from the tutorial alone and if you do the guide quest you get a dorky looking hat that will give you an extra 100TR per race.

Farm items, plans, animals and background all costs TR but you get quite a lot just by paying those 1000TR for the first time which means you don’t need to wait and save TR to start your farm and grow plants and animals: You can start right away and you can also let the farm be open to the public and your friends so you can have a party!

Alchemy is also another thing they offer which is good but personally I find it annoying: At the end of every race you have a chance to get a card, each race track has it’s own set of cards. Now Alchemy needs specific cards to create items, equipment and so on that all give stats so if you put your mind into it you can rock up your body without even entering the cash shop. Bad side is that they need like 10 cards of the most common ones and 4 or so with those that’s a bit rarer. So your bound to do the same race over and over for a decage or so.

If you just want to make some friends and not race you can always just sit around in the park and chat with random people. I dislike racing and sports games, but this really hit a spot in my heart. Next I should probably go try that cute golf game that annoys me every time I see it: I mean, it’s soo darn cute I don’t see a lot of MMORPGs that is that cute but no of course make the golf game cute enough to take down presidents.

Scions of Fate

So, it had to come. The day my friend randomly spit out a MMORPG name, and the day he tried to doom me for hell. I, honesty have tried Scions of Fate before for like a few minutes or so, either way couldn’t have been long.

I am dreading, I am honestly dreading my time for this game and I hope that profound hate will make it better then it actually is.

So you enter the world with no tutorial for newbies and no idea who to talk too because there are no signs! Well of course you talk to the first person you see and wow, Quest Lady Tae, got it!

But then she says make it to the 10th level on your own. I mean WTF wheres the noob guidance! Don’t make me work I want to be spoiled by noob guidance NPCs!! Over dramatize I know I know..

Good thing theres Auto Loot, bad thing we’re killing cats. Adorable Gray Cats. Somewhere out there the creator of Scions of Fate is getting haunted down by Cat Assassins to pay for his horrible mistake >_>

Oh, but my fault there is only Auto Loot on quest items and gold, other items just drop very very rare.

I guess I should actually give them a point for putting in realistic monsters, but come on no kids really want to slay cute furry animals such as cats and foxes, toads sure I can kill toads.

But for a cheap made game the graphics isn’t that bad, in fact their better then most of the games I’d want to play daily. But the lack of customization and scenery change just makes you not think so highly off it.

I kind of like the skills, if I ignore I don’t get any combat skills till I’m level 10 then yes I like the skills. There are two sets of skills: Abilities and skills. Skills are your typical thing, for me as a healer I get heals, buffs and attacks. You need to hit the right level and gather up “Ki” to buy them. Ability on the other hand are more like Passive Skills. You get one point each level which you can put into more hp, or greater heal and so on.

But in the end, I met nice people and I had a good time even though the grind was rather annoying. And when I finally hit level 10 and got my kick ass Skill I was in Heaven <3 But my time here is much easier since they have this summer even that gives you tons of great potions.

But as those random friends I made told me, Scions of Fate gets better with the levels and I got a bit of that, at level 10 we got this suuuuper weapon with the most awesome damage. Of course it would only last 2 hours so using that time right would be good: Go to a high level area and kill.

But honestly, I’d only recommend this game to people that don’t mind mindless grind.

- No Mage Class

Qworld

I never tried Qworld before simply because it was made by Perfect World, and since most games from Perfect World usually have A LOT in common and simply feel like a cheap rip off of lazy work and greedy people who want to take advantage of your wallet.

Well because of this I had some expectations from the game, and I have seen the trailers both Ether Saga and Qworld had skills, or pets in the trailer which I knew very well came from Perfect World. So you should have seen the disappointment when I could not walk into the water, O yes forget shortcuts you would only get stuck if you tried walking over weird shaped landscape or water.

But what Qworld does have to offer is a change of scenery, I by mistake ended up taking a quest that threw me out on adventure for half an hour spending 5minute or so in each town some were plain, some were simply pretty.

At first I thought the fact they had adorable pets in town as a great cuteness factor, but as the trip continued, I found out they had just been lazy because the exact same animal were in every town.

And then Sadly Qworld isn’t even on an American nor an Europe server yet so with them having so many servers and the huge time difference you might feel lonely till you get to higher levels.

Fun thing was that their raccoons sounds like cats but else then that I didn’t quite enjoy the first 10 levels as a Rookie. And 10 levels doesn’t sound so bad now does it? Well it does if you end up using a decade killing one monster at a time, and you get quests to kill 20-30 of them.

Yes, my time in Qworld was more like a nightmare grindfest then enjoyable cuteness and just as I was only 1 level from my first job change I got hit by the huge truck of having to kill 50 monsters.

But I’m not dumb, I can see the potential it may have: Pet system, Mount system, Production, Auto Walk, people are already level 100 so it has to be active at some point. But besides the hole it having a bit cuteness in it, I wouldn’t recommend anyone to play it.

If you don’t mind the grind, and you think it looks interesting I’ll rather point my finger toward Ether Saga then sticking with Qworld.

After all, to me it almost feels that since Ether Saga came 2nd it’s kinda like the outcome of Qworlds failure as a game for at least Ether Saga has some more to offer.

I was going to wait til my job change before I added anything about Qworld, because god knows maybe it goes super easy as fast as you get a job and it becomes enjoying. But if you want to try it out: Go do it yourself.

NosTale

I don’t quite know how I pull it off, but every time I try NosTale something happens that makes me hate it and honestly I’ve never made it past the Explorer job. First time my pet got stuck somewhere and I had to use forever to walk them together. This time I didn’t get job level 20 till I was 18 myself, and as little as it may sound trust me it was like being in a boot camp from hell. Without spamming pots I had to sit on my ass after every monster I killed else I’d probably die a horrible death and trust me I was close to quitting but then I made it.

Mage. O my lovely Mage. I could finally two hit monsters, sometimes 3. My HP went down a lot but I didn’t have to sit on my butt after every monster and I can finally write a review of NosTale without the cloud of hatred for the game.

But yes, it don’t change the bad point of NosTale of slow walking and slow combat up to job change. It dosn’t change boring conversations you have to struggle your eyes through but Nostale DOES have it’s good points only if you manage to survive the beginner class.

NosTale offers a great pet system or as they call it “Nosmates” You can tame almost every monster you find and level them up and they will fight as your companion. Unlike other pet systems you can actually switch to your pet and walk around or kill monsters by yourself while your character rests or does something else.

NosTale also have something called Stone of Timespace, a mission dungeon. You can go in them for fun, but you most likely have to go in there for quests either way. It’s interesting and fun, it has timers and sometimes even puzzels along side with monster killing and at the end you get an reward. Bad side with this is that you can easily get tired because their rather an repeatable dungeon design.

NosTale also has a housing system, buy them with the gold you earn from monsters or through cash shop – Build your own house and garden for you and your pets! With the housing system you can have your own warehouse in the house, and even a place for all your production activities.

Monato Esprit

Monato Esprit has a special system where you choose a star sign and a season for your character, you can of course pick your own star sign and the season of the year that you enjoy the most but be aware! Each star sign and season give different passive skills, some give more HP, others give physical defense and so on so you can also use it to suit the kind of character you want to create.

The long conversations in Monato Esprit really did turn me off, they had lines for your own character and a picture that represents you which changes with which class you decide to go for but the hair and color is completely different from what you may choose in character creation so for me it felt more that I was playing in some kind of anime game. But a lot of people like a good story! I personally prefer living my own ;D

Monato Esprit isn’t that much of a cute game, the graphics are dated while they seem rather gray and dull. But if you don’t mind dated graphics then these small chibis that run funny might just be the game for you!

Sadly, this game wasn’t something for me, I finally get my character to level 5 after the tutorial with super long conversations and picked mage: It sent me on a quest to a garden and I was told to collect 6 quest item from a level 2 and a level 1 monster. Easy I’m thinking: But guess what.
They hurt, and took long to kill even with using skills. My exp bar went to 100% but I didn’t level.

Confused and annoyed I killed a million monster and finally got my quest items and when I got myself back to town and became a mage: It also made me level 1 again. A million quests popped up around me and I started collecting, but I could only carry 20 quests at the same time. I decided to log off: I’ve seen enough.

What made me like this game?
- Star sign give passive stats
- Monsters were kinda cute
- Easy to Learn
- Healing spots in town.

What made me dislike this game?
- Hard to kill lower levels? -> Grind hell in future?
- Normal attack gets canceled
- No stat points
- Can’t see Npcs on maps
- Can only see quest icons on minimap

Maple Story: Knights of Cygnus

I got to admit Maple Story did their best to keep people focused on the game this summer, and I got to admit they did good considering all the great games coming out around these months they still managed to get their servers crowded enough.

One of the things they released where the Knights of Cygnus: A kind of “Order” with a bit different classes. They have a lot of familiar things, Some skills in common but a lot cut off and some are not.

But I fell In Love with the Knights of Cygnus, the story had me interesting the beginner levels entertaining and most of all you got this skill where you could summon this super cute elemental to help fight monsters!

But that wasn’t all they whipped together for the Knights of Cygnus, they got their very own designed relaxer chair, own super adorable beginning area and some very gay looking robes.

One thing that made me really like Cygnus Knight is how Noob Friendly they were, usually you land into the Maple World with a hundred quests on your available list and no idea where you should start, well as a Cygnus Knight you also got your own main quests besides all the others and they take a focus on one town at a time so you’ll end up traveling through them all in time.

Another great thing is that Cygnus Knights receive one more AP (Action Point to put into INT, STR and so on) each level then the other classes but the down side is that their max level is 120. But who cares, it will take months if not years till we reach that level right? And probably quit a few times before even getting close.

I have a special love for Maple Story, after all it was my first MMORPG. Yes I know Maple Story has a lot of haters, but they sure do got a lot of followers too, and not just young people who don’t know better. I know for a fact a lot of mature and even adults play Maple Story just for the reason it’s a lot more dramafree then most other games.

So they don’t offer as good game features as most other games, but they do offer a great community and tons of features to make you get to know more people, and rely on your teammates more. Some of these are Party Quests, Guild Party Quests, a great chatting system and a Family system with great rewards.

Legend of Edda

We all know how we worship and drool over the cuteness of Luna Online, so I’m proud to present the newest game from the same developers: The MMOs name is Legend of Edda. But it’s an working title so it might get changed as time goes.

I don’t know korean at all, but I do go well with google translations so even I hunted down the Korean website and took a look and man it does look good. But firefox wouldn’t handle it so I had to open up Opera.

Legend of Edda based on the myth of Olympus and Titan promises to bring great fun for players by offering cool battle system and feel of console game.

They offer the typical classes of Fighter, Rogue and Mage. Below I’ve shown the job tree, sadly I don’t know the 3rd jobs but I will update as soon as I can.

So they will be in closed beta in Mid – August in Korea, that doesn’t mean we won’t see it in English soon. If I remember right it didn’t take Luna Online far till they were popping up on English Malaysian servers.

LaTale

LaTale is a 2D side scrolling game with Beautiful graphics and smoothing music. Even thought the first job change is at level 80 don’t let this turn you down: LaTale has a huge pool of skills. For an Warrior you can easily change from using a spear to a sword without delay and therefor able to use both skill trees if wanted!

I’m the kind of person that would rather spam pots till I die then to grind the slow way, and thats how the beginning of LaTale is. You have the option to save your MP and enjoy the slow grind or just go ahead and get the skills and do it fast and smooth, which is probably the best way considering you get a 30min with EXP boost every day when you log in.

LaTale is the kind of game you want to play, my reason is the adorable perfect graphics and the AOEs. In most games you need to spend weeks and months to get high enough level for those sweet AOEs that makes your grinding easy and simple: In LaTale you get them on every skill. Some skill will rain from the heaven, others will just shot out in front of you but even a swing with a dagger will hit all the monsters standing there: It won’t just switch from the monsters whose closest to you.

But LaTale offers other things too that might attract people: Combos, a Crafting system, a PVP Arena with great rewards, Instance Dungeons, Pets you can level up and can aid you in battle and even pick things up for you and then there is the Affection System.

I think I’m most facinated with the Affection System, in most games you just click that partner and BOOM your married or dating or god knows what. But in LaTale you need to work for it! There are different steps of the relationship just like reality, you need to get to a certain stage before proposing. I think this prevents all those wannabe players in MMORPGs that think their so mighty if they go around flirting with everyone and always marrying a new person every week. In LaTale when you first gotten Married you actually get rewards such as Party Buffs and Accessories.

Hello Kitty Online

So last time I found out that Aeriagames will be launching closed beta on HKO. And today I find out that Alaplaya has it for Europe on OPEN BETA! Geez, does no one send me any newsletters any longer? -.-”

Anyway, time for me to spin around and scream out in a childish world famous way: The Fangirl way. Hello Kitty have become a world icon. Waffle irons, necklaces, bags, dresses, underwear, toys and toys upon toys. Hello Kitty is massive! I’m actually visiting Japan next summer and I’ve already been at sites that sell stuff from japan and been drooling over all the things I wish to find there and buy <3

O yes, but this review should be about the game not hello kitty. As the game was downloading they had a very nice tutorial, which was actually quite entertaining and easy to learn even for kids who don’t have much experience with mmorpgs.

From screen shots I always had a fear that Hello Kitty would only look cheap, but as other game sites would call plain and boring graphics, I would rather view it as adorable pastel colored graphics that on some places actually look like jelly! Alright, some places it looks weird and bad like the ocean that don’t move, but then they have fishes and boats in it that actually move.

I guess it was pretty empty at first, and this is definitely a community game and not your typical grind fest mmorpg. But I was playing at 5 in the morning, and it did get crowder as the hours flew by.

Hello Kitty isn’t just simply adorable, they have a huge focus on harvesting, cooking, farming, carpentry, mining, and even tailoring. But on this side it’s pretty negative because as far as I see there are no skills, no classes, no super damage mages and NO GRINDING! Well, yes, there are some monster defeating for quests but hey it’s not even killing monsters. Which is what makes it suited for kids, you don’t kill monsters in HKO, you simply make them fall asleep as they become defeated.

The more and more I see of the scenery in HKO the more and more I get enchanted by it, I mean the things you can gather are in the most beautiful shapes and sizes, among the trees you’ll find a few trees that’s shaped weirdly into some cute face and such things are everywhere: Cute statues and I just want to scream a good old “kyaa” in here :3

If you prefer social MMOs, with a free farm and a lot of other cute additional features don’t let the pink scare you away because it’s quite a fun game. Even if you dislike Hello Kitty, but who am I tried to fool? Everyone knows that Hello Kitty secretly controls the world, and the American president.

GhostX isn’t your typical fantasy MMORPG, it’s set to a metro theme of the future where you and your new friend a nanobot, which at first glance you’d think was a pet but it actually some kind of monster that you end up joining forces with to kick some ghosts ass!!

But, really, I was hoping for more “cuteness” in it, and from what I could see the only cute thing in the game were characters but I guess they didn’t exactly try to make those cute, it seemed more as to try to make it anime style to attract more members. I suppose I should say those ducks in the sewer could be a sign of a cuter future, but really those robot ducks looks more like some freaky weird hybrid of a duck and a spider. Nightmare? Oh, if only I was 10 and scared just as easily haha^^”

I’ll never quite understand the concept that every movie, game, and so on that has to be all futuristic has to be so gray and boring. It’s not like in 100 years or so when we’re flying in space that we’ve gone colorblind and don’t know the pleasure of a nice picture on the wall you know.

As I enjoy deep woods with mysterious creatures and beautiful shining lakes go by, I got to say if you have an open mind and don’t mind the hole gray metallic future but still running around killing with swords: GhostX is an actually entertaining game.

GhostX been out awhile, and I got to say I am VERY disappointed how they still manage to have an graphical error as your EXP bar looking like something a robot puked out, but then again maybe it’s something I did wrong.

Now, GhostX offers both a game with a back story and progress. As there are several areas you may walk around and talk with people it is still a mission based game. Each mission have several quests, but each mission have extra goals they want you to meet. The first mission’s goal was to get at least 22,000 as a score, with no deaths and within 15min. Now if you die, get way less and still pull it off within 15min you can redo it to try get 22k and no deaths checked as well.

But even outside the mission maps which have the story all us RPGer crave for, there are quests that npc holds: Everything from training, time mission and just talking around. You may gain exp, items end as you progress they will unlock new maps for you.

What made me like GhostX?

- The Nanobots can evolve
- Plenty of Quests
- Nice and simple interface

- Half sidescrolling Half not
- Short and easy to learn tutorial

What made me dislike GhostX?
Theres very few strong dislikes with GhostX, sure there are some glitches that have yet to been fixed, and theres no option to remove black outlines. But overall, if you ain’t horrible against SciFi games with super cute characters and a lot of action I’d strongly recommend it.

I feel cheated, I should play a few more hours just to see if I’ll find the scenery in that trailer xDD I probably will tomorrow due to boredom anyway

Fly For Fun Online

So I’m finally through it: My review of FlyFF. Actually this is my 3rd time trying FlyFF and I really didn’t like it the two first, but this time wasn’t that bad.

But even though they have fixed a lot of the bugs I couldn’t stand back then there are still downsides with FlyFF, Like the grind, the dated graphics or the fact that for such a huge populated game most of us look alike because of bad customization, which really they should change put some more hairstyles or colors in there.

According to my friend who actually played FlyFF for a longer period of time stated that it’s a game you need to get used to. According to me, any game you need to get used to is simply ignoring flaws and getting addicted to the community.

So it may not be for everyone, but that shouldn’t be a reason not to try it. In fact FlyFF does have some upsides to it that even I look forward to. They have game features such as flying, housing, pets and at higher levels you even get dungeons.

But to me, FlyFF is flawed. It’s nearly impossible to decorate your own house without cash shop since each thing costs over a million in in game money. The town is large, and to find out when and where your quests are you either need to spend half your game play running back and forth to town, and then through it. But of course it has a wiki but how fun is checking the Wiki every 3rd minute to find out where your monster is, or even if you get quests that level.

Well as you can see I’m not that positive when it comes to this game, and it was boring at the beginning where you need to struggle through 15 levels of being a Vagrant but again I do see the potential. Getting my job and skills made it more fun and Gpotato offers a lot of events, and it has a huge community, and then theres flying at level 20 which is pretty darn fun.

Flyff would probably be the type of game I’ll sit and force myself through it waiting for the promise it’ll actually get better, but honestly there are better options to keep myself entertained then Flyff. Maybe if there were more people at lower levels I’d actually enjoy going through the grind hell, maybe thats why I’d rather play a game like scions of fate then FlyFF.

Florensia

Florensia is one of those games that’s not really cute, but still has those few cute sides by it. I actually was really nervous whetever or not I should post about it but honestly I think it has the cute sides to attract most girls.

So what makes me think it’s so cute? It has some really cute characters, and some less cute. But it still have that half normal half chibi looks that end up attracting both parts.

The fact they have super huge hand is kind of funny, but some consider that as cute.

Florensia has the bright and wonderful graphics, it has the adorable monsters and even thought they use fancy names such as nobles it still have the typical classes: But they have something special. They have Boats, you can build and customize your own boat and set out to sea with it. Kill monsters or other boats out there.

That is probably the one thing that turns off typical MMOers, but I find it quite fun. Even if you dislike it it’s not something you have to do, because your land character and your boat have different levels and skills. Thus if you get your character up to level 40, your boat will still be level 1.

The artwork of Florensia should easily hit the wallpapers, but a lot of the icons in game are dull, boring and looks like it belongs in a different century. But I guess it fits the theme, after all theres pirate ships and big ass dresses. It feels like your in a different time, not just a different world.

I actually choose an Noble because I thought they were cutest, and as my love for Magic won and I ended up walking around with my hand raised and a light hovering over it which honestly looked gay: It was still cool, and rather great looking that you could choose between typical mage skills, and using a long thin fencing sword with some magic skills attached to it and I’m sure the other classes too have more then one skill tree to choose from.

What made me Like this game?
- Fast recovery
- Cute monsters
- Tons of drops
- Amazing graphics
- Unique ship system
- Original Skill Icons

What made me Dislike this game?
- To much conversation for each quest.
- Takes time to learn

I have had my doubts about Fiesta for a long time because everywhere I hear all this negative about how repeatable it is and how boring it gets but what MMORPG isn’t repeatable? Kill this, walk there but Fiesta did end up pleasant for me after all.

I can understand how it’s boring at the beginning, first skill is at level 3, then the next level 5. It must be dreadful. No, seriously I see they use the same monsters a lot in the beginning just changing their color and small things but besides from that I find Fiesta interesting.

They offer a very interesting Kingdom Quest which is a kind of dungeon, the goal goes from survival, to killing the boss to just killing everything within the time limit. Of course it sucks how they only run every two hours but it’s still something to look forward to!

Fiesta is a simple game, but it’s anything from boring if you think that. They have this weird looking turkey that comes to bug you every time you need to do something. And if you have the opportunity to spend some real cash you should definitely try out Remi’s Rare Find, it’s a kind of lottery and if your Lucky you definitely won’t regret using money on it.

My fav part of Fiesta was the Alchemy, sure I could only pick 2 Alchemy skills and nothing else. And sure it might take some time to get to the really great stuff like speed potions but I loved running around the forest looking for mushroom and plants to create what I needed. Of course some of them needs items from monsters so main focus was killing.

And then there is the Mushroom House! I even had to screenshot it, as you reach higher level you can change the mushroom and you can even access other fancy looking ones from the cash shop but their simply ADORABLE!! And best part is they make this adorable sound when you open them. Oh, I should probably mention they regenerate your HP and SP faster and thats the purpose with them.

Ether Saga

Just looking at Ether Saga gives me chills, it’s so colorful, lively with amazing graphics. If your looking for a cute game: Then Ether Saga Online is the game for you!

ESO offers 3 different races all with their different looks and their very own pets. Yes you heard me, EVERY character get a pet at the beginning and the taming system to get other pets later on is very interesting. Renzu are archetypal humans, Shenzu the demigod race and Yaoh is the race that were once animals

A really neat system of ESO is birthdays, which I heavly recommend reading about on their official forum becuase different birthdays give different skills and theres actually this very handy person that made a birthday skill calculator for those that want to fit the birthday to the kind of character they want to have.

Another original system of ESO is the stat system, you don’t get stats every level but every 5 level you gain 5 points which you can use on the 5 elements: Oora, Unda, Windu, Pyra, and Erda. Confused? Don’t be.

Oora: +3 strength, slightly increase Chance of Critcast.
Unda: Health +20, increased Health Recovery Rate while not in combat
Windu: +1 Intellect, +1 Resistance, increase Resilience and slightly increases Critstrike Bonus Damage
Pyra: Intellect +3
Erda: Strength +1, Defense +1, increase Accuracy and slightly increases Critcast Bonus Damage

It’s almost as normal int/str/con/agi and so on, because in normal games if Int gives intellect (magic attack) it usually also gives more magic defence, and MP. Here they just explained it better for those who isn’t that experienced in the world of MMORPGs

It has both point and click and W/A/S/D

It also offers autowalk, so if you decide to grab a bite you can just walk all the way. but if you don’t like to walk between towns you can also teleport.

There are very few things that I actually dislike about ether saga, they fast cover up the things I want in an mmorpg: Easy explained, pets, good minimap, good chat system, cash shop and good graphics.

Now ether saga does have their bad points, one is their player ranking system. For some this is a great system, but for others it will just be used as a power tool to be the best and probably get really cocky if they are. They have rankings by level, gold, dominance, infamy and by virtue. Another bad thing is the grind, I started noticing it around level 10 when I suddenly counted that I as a mage needed 7-10 hits just to kill of an enemy!

And worst was I thought i got lucky, i had 3 quests to kill the same monster. Easy leveling right? No totally FAIL! It’s different then other mmorpgs where each quests will count the kill here you need to kill the 15 for quest one then the 20 for quest two which in the end makes 35 monsters. But who knows, it might get easier in a few levels when you get some more skills since people are already in their 90s.

But in the end, I just really enjoyed Ether Saga! And if you can handle the grind I say go for it.

Dragonica

When I first tried Dragonica I was really impressed, they have an amazing story behind every class each with a movie you can view if you choose: some sad and some just fun. It makes the storylovers really have something to grip onto from the first start.

But it don’t end with just a trailer, from the tutorial and out to your first town you get your first story. The quests you do have a purpose their not pointless fetch and kill. The blacksmith needs leather to create armour, the streetpunk makes a bet with you, and the towns head is asking you for help to rescue his daughter which you actually meet in the tutorial! Yes there is an evil in dragonica indeed and you need to help fight it.

Besides the different background story of each character they also start off in their own original town, all with their own art and theme but you can easily run over to the next town and play the first few levels with a friend since the NPCs there will offer the same quests as your original town.

Expect my impression on how colorful, great art and how fun it is when the NPCs talk about their day and thoughts Dragonica actually got a lot of things to offer: A great and rewarding combo system, a dungeon system, dating, refining, cooking and a pvp system

What made me really take to Dragonica was the hole gameplay at all, you really need to be good with your fingers to do well. Jumping, Sprinting, SpamClicking and doing the different skills after the others was a lot harder then I was used to. As a thief which was my first character I had to throw the monsters up in the air, jump and then use a skill that made me spin around up there hitting the monsters. Doing that all at the same time took a lot out of me so this Noob changed to Archer which was a lot easier since I had one skill to throw them up in the air and then all I had to do was spam one buttom and they would get hit up there.

The mission maps is another thing that made me like Dragonica, since these mission maps got all the monsters which are outside you rarely need to kill outside the dungeons. Atleast not at the beginning. The missions give great EXP and depending on how good you do inside you get a grade and you can gain equipments or other special items as an reward.

For the future, Dragonica already showed us previews of a own housing system with your own maid! and pets that you grow, help you in combat and you can actually mount.

What made me Like Dragonica?

What made me Dislike Dragonica?
I think there is only one thing, no two things that made me dislike Dragonica. One of them is that even though it’s not impossible it’s hard to be anti social in Dragonica since most of the mission maps needs other people too or a few million pots or so, and depending on when your awake it might not be as crowded, but considering there is both an NA version, international version AND an EU version it won’t be as much a problem now then it was before the EU version came. The other thing that made me dislike it, is that it might not be for everyone: Not everyone likes the way they kill with the hole combo thing, I’m sorry people they just dont want you to grind the easy way of standing still and clicking 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 all night long =D

Dream Of Mirror Online

Dream Of Mirror Online was simple adorable from the start and out, I knew from the first sight of monsters that this game was something I would really enjoy. The monsters I first met were some cute fat pigs named PuPu and they got hatched out of eggs whenever they spawned something I haven’t seen before.

Since I had just been playing Qworld I felt the ease of DOMO, unlike that other game and other games I have been playing lately it had an easy low level grind and killing. In fact it was as easy as a walk in the park.

DOMO offers a lot of things I’d like to get into, like Flying, Pets, PvP and Crafting, Or even the simple Combo system that made grinding so much better but I won’t get to much detail into those things right now. And this way I might have an excuse to waste a working day playing DOMO just to write a post about pets and flying and other things to do in DOMO.

Each race of the DOMO world have their own back story, I decided for the Felin, a more sexy then cute looking person with cat ears and apparently we were mighty dragons once upon a time. I almost was tempted to make every other character simply to find out their story too. So, did I mention that DOMO is one of the few games that manages to smoothly have your typical MMO game play and throw in some main quest story videos? Yeah, isn’t that the best?

One of the reasons I decided to quit this game the last time I tried was the annoyingly huge first main city that wasn’t just messy but ugly too. But sadly back then I didn’t have the brain enough to figure out they had an AutoWalk system so I didn’t need to walk around getting lost every time I could simply click on the map where I wanted to go and sit back and relax.

But one thing that sure made DOMO interesting was the fact you could tame any monster and end up with a mini version of them to help you in battle. Of course this isn’t the pet system, the pet system is prettier and have an evolution feature and an mount feature.

The Destiny system is quite interesting, they have “destined relative, enemy and true love” It’s quite funny how you walk closer and closer to someone whose a true match to you and this red string of fate shows up connecting you two. And if your one for not turning game sounds off you’ll hear this heartbeat racing faster and faster as closer you get to the person.

It’s a pity that skills are weapon connected, considering how you can choose a main job and then a 2nd job. I’d so love being a super damage mage and then having heals to back me up instead I want damage on top of damage. Super fun trust me.

I don’t quite know if it’s my new kittens or something else but I just went through the most confusing 5minute phase of my entire life with a game.

I read about it and it sounded like a typical MMORPG, I signed up and suddenly they made me choose a class and I could talk to NPC’s in the browser and I just had a HUUUGE question mark on my face whetever or not this was a browser game or not.

Two minutes in the forum and I found out some news I got really eager to learn. Cloud Nine is the remake of Holic, it’s named Holic2 in Korean, and Lunatia in Japanese. Either way it’s the upcoming new version of Holic, but it’s said to be very different from the actual Holic they have just taken pieces of Holic and improved it into a hole new game!

Cloud Nine will have a lot of different game features and man it looks tasty.

Transform into monsters, get their stats and power!
- Pet System
A friend to help by your side.
- Craft System
Loot, Mining, Fishing, and Gathering.
They also going to get an collector system with Monster Cards, Guild Houses, PvP and on top of that their also showing off a new race called Matsuka which looks like a hybrid between a cat and a human (Neko for us Anime lovers)

But sadly, there is no set date for when closed beta will be coming, but I’m sure going to keep you guys posted. In the meanwhile you could always drop by their forum and take a look at their minigames or god knows what else they stirred up for the old loyal fans while they wait.

So I decided to try out Angels Online, I haven’t before because it has bad graphics: I saw advertisement and screenshot and judged it on looks. Which has become a bad habit for me in my mmorpg life. But I just had to go and prove myself wrong: Angels Online is an Amazing game, yes on some places the graphics are bad and even dated but some of the scenery and systems they have in AO is just delightful and I am impressed. They offer a housing system, pet system, 14 playable classes and tons of cute animations!

I think the only thing that ISN’T cute is our own character, they look awful to me: But it also has it’s good points. They have a large amount of hair styles, hair color and skin colors to choose from so you can be as original as you want to! If you agree with me and want to run away due to the characters looking a bit funky, don’t! This game have a ton of other cute pixels to offer: Like two butterflies dancing together in the air, sparkling water, adorable monsters and so much more!

I really like the story of the game, it isn’t just those typical go kill that go pick that with no purpose. Angel Online have found a way to sew in a story to make it seem like there is a purpose without creating a half hour with reading material for us. You start off as a young angel, in school and you need to take classes and collect points. When you’ve gained enough points you can graduaget’s fun, you get to choose between 4 different towns to stay at each with their own scenery! I of course choose the forests because I love green and animals!

Another system which I really liked in Angels Online is skills, In normal game you get some sort of skill points which you gain every time you level. In AO it’s different: You have to level up your

skills, which you do by using them. It’s just like leveling yourself up! You kill monster and gain exp so your character can level. You use a skill and the skill get’s exp! Get enough levels and you can buy a scroll and your skills will become even more powerful!

So, if you end up getting careless or unlucky and die don’t panic! In Angels Online you get the option to either revive back in town or become a dead angel or ghost as some call it and revive at a nearby revival stone and theres a revival stone in every map!

On a last note I’d like to mention that it’s impossible not to compare this game to trickster, but it is not because their alike. It’s because they have the same set up on movement. This is very common, it’s the same with Maple Story: Every 2d side scrolling game out there people will scream and cry how it’s just another maple clone when it’s nothing alike expect the fact their 2d side scrolling. But there were a few things that really stands out to me that their different: Their angels with 14 hole classes, not animals with only 4 classes (or 8, but it’s only 4 but different gender different looks). Then theres skills, in Trickster being a mage is awfull the cooldown are high and how to even use skills are difficult but on AO it’s easy you can just click the fast keys while having the monster selected and the cooldown is really fast so you don’t have to run around like a maniac waiting to be able to use your skill again.

What made me like Angels Online?

- Great Crafting system
- Cute Animations
- Skills has it’s own level (When you use them you gain exp for them)
- Level Up Boxes

What made me dislike Angels Online?
- Bad minimap
- No quest Signs
- No graphic option to remove black lines
- To much time on the same monster map
- Bad pixel graphics on certain things
